About the artist:

My Cowgirls defy convention and have spirits bigger than a Texas sky. I have chosen the Cowgirl as an image of independence,
perseverance, integrity and one that embodies the image of a self-sufficient, competent woman. I acknowledge her as an authentic
American icon. Perhaps undervalued, I celebrate the cowgirl in all her adventures and t
ravail, wild and strong. Her look has been
updated in my collection entitled, "21st Century Cowgirl."
My creations are the fusion of Fine Art and Technology; an original technique
I have been perfecting for many years.Traditionally trained as a designer and illustrator, I attended Kent State University, and graduated from
the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in Art. Later I returned to school to receive my teaching certification at Texas A&M.
I am a self-taught painter, computer user, and website designer.Since leaving graphic design after a 15-year career, I have taught community
college and now teach Art in Garland, Texas .I am interested in figures t hat interact with environment, creating a poignant, mysterious vision
and tell a story. Using imaginative design, exquisite detail and richly colored landscapes, my imagery is commanding, whimsical and enigmatic.
I am available for freelance assignments and commissioned artwork. To request a quote, send an e-mail to

Ordering Questions::

Q: How can I purchase an original and what is it like?

A: You can purchase originals at various shows throughout the year and online at
www.hoormanart.com. They are 30 " x 40", $750.00, gallery wrapped, and exquisitely varnished.
A "gallery wrapped" piece of art is like a "box frame" around the art and generally needs no frame, but may be framed upon your discretion.
The colors are vivid and the special UV varnish protects them from sun damage and fading, making it an heirloom quality
piece of art. I take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship.

Q: How much is shipping and handling?

Q. I don't have a credit card so I am unable to place an online order. Can I still buy an original, print,
or postcard?

A: Yes. Just send a check or money order and I will ship you the art. My address will be provided.

Q. What is a limited edition print of 25 and how do I order it? Why do they cost $180.00?

A: These are very high quality prints on canvas and only 25 of each are available at this time, which makes them more valuable.
They are signed and come shipped to you rolled in a tube. You may then have them gallery wrapped or put in a frame.
They are numbered and hand signed by me and are the next best thing to the original painting.

When you see one in person you will understand! Each piece is effectively a unique painting since I add some finishing touches,
by hand, on the canvas print and sign and number it. Once a collector of mine has seen one of my
"Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Canvas Prints" they typically purchase them exclusively from then on.
These prints are available in 20 " x 30" only.

Q. How can I have a portrait of my pet produced and how much will it cost?

A. Contact me by email, hoormandesign@verizon.net then send some photographs of your pet. I will begin creating a
one-of-a -kind portrait of your pet . When I am about half way through, I will send you a digital proof via email for your approval,
then I will complete the portrait. We start with a down payment of $275.00, then another $275.00 is due upon
approval and completion for a total price of $550.00. I accept credit cards, checks and money orders.
Please check my website to see examples of my pet portraiture. www.Hoormanart.com/paintings_4.html

Q. What are the small prints like?

A. They are high quality archival paper and inks, printed on 8-1/2 x 11 paper. The image size is approximately
8 x 10 and will fit in a standard frame. The colors are brilliant, durable and vibrant.

Q. What are the greeting cards like?

A. They come in a plastic gift pak tied with a raffia bow. There are 12 cards and envelopes to a pak.
The ink and paper are archival quality, meaning they are permanent and long lasting.
They are blank inside and a perfect gift as they are, but can also be framed.
You can request 12 of the same design or 12 assorted images of your choice.
Just list the names of the paintings you would like when you fill out your order.
